Goose Meadow

mosaic
35cm x 25cm

Commissioned by the National Museum of Scotland for their Inspired by gallery, this was 'inspired by nature'… but also inspired by a Pictish carving of a goose in the Museum.

The thought process of reinterpreting a visual image from archaeological finds was triggered on my study trip to Cyprus, facilitated by Arch Network and funded by Eurasmus Plus - more info over on my blog about that: https://inthegardenwithfriends.wordpress.com

There is a second mosaic, Twilight Flutter, and both mosaics are made out of recycled materials - including items that my children painted at school, some of my father's and mother-in-laws crockery, some friends and sister-in-law's ceramic waste alongside other bits and bobs.
